I may be a dork, but I still enjoy to play a video game or two, not nearly as much as when I was younger and I lived to play video games. Endless Ocean is a Dive Sim, and I was wondering how many divers would buy a Wii or this game. It is not out in the US yet, but is said to be very big over in Japan. So who would want to play this?

I love my wii, I'd probably play this just for the COMMERSON'S DOLPINS! There is another game for the PlayStation2 called EndlessBlue (at least I THINK- I can't promise that!) that is diving oriented as well!

There is an older PS2 Game out that is kind of lame. I am sure the creators took some liberties and altered the sport of scuba for the games sake, but I think it is going to be interesting. I really like the fact that when you "discover" a fish, the game gives you the real latin name, common name, and real habitat information.

I'm not a huge video game person, but tha's cool! The only thing is that it was driving me nuts that the octo was on the left side!

I like video games and Wii games are a lot of fun, especially with a big group of people. I'd probably try a dive sim.

Hrmm..that diver needs to streamline..

You don't get the streamline upgrade until you reach level 50 and collect 100 pearls.

Just one more peice of ammo in my ongoing war with the wife. I think I almost got here convinced that I not only want a Wii, but so does she.

I want it!

In some places... they have them here at our Safeway for $400 (gotta love our inflated prices), and they're starting to be available online again.

I still want one, but I'm going to wait until the price comes down a little more.

Heck, that costs nearly as much as another regulator...

You can find a Wii if you look for one, but they generally are not on store shelves for very long. If you need some help convincing your wife she wants a Wii, she can talk to my wife. I think she plays that thing more than I do.

I just purchased a Wii and the system is just outstanding. Just the boxing game on Wii sports will give you a workout.

I think Wii boxing is the best workout on Wii sports, and My wife and I play Wii Tennis the most. I really hope this is a good game, with lots of replay value. I hear you can even Dive with a Dive buddy online.

Im seriously considering one....however...
What minimum tv size would you say would make it worth it? Right now I just have a freebie 15" but will probably be going up to a 27" possibly...Worth it?

nferra2
08-10-2007, 21:19
A 27" is more than adequate, and If you are cheap you can pick up a 27" crt for around $100-150. I personally play on a 42" Sony rear projection LCD, and playing video games can become very immersive especially with the Wii. I know the Will will work on a 15", heck some guy has one hooked up to a 1.3" screen and it works, I just don't know how good the experience would be on a screen that size.

It depends what games you're playing. Things like WiiSports or Wiiplay are pretty straightforward, but if you're playing Paper Mario, Elebits, or Zelda (or similar games) you're going to want a bigger screen to help you with the puzzles involved. 27" is PLENTY large though, it'll be fine!

Ack! Look how unecofriendly he is. Hoses are flopping everywhere, petting fish! What instructor signed him off? :samurai:

LOL...just kidding. It looks pretty cool.

I'm just jealous. My wife won't let me buy a Wii. :crying:

My wife use to hate it when I played video games (back when she was just my girlfriend). I turned that around by putting a controller in her hand, and made her play. Now she plays more than I do. Somehow you need to get a Wiimote into her hands, and playing Wiisports.

I bet it would be interesting to see how they made the game, as far as using real divers to get their character models, even if the game is not 100% accurate.
