I'd do it, no way my wife would. Her exact words were: "That's a death trap!" :smiley36:

This one was a little over a grand for a couple, with as much diving as you want included, which isn't really all that bad. I am sure that place costs a fortune to insure.

Could you picture the guy going to the bank with the business plan for that hotel?

This place had to be self financed, or it used some sort of other equity to use the loan. I don't think any loan officer would take that risk. Maybe a group of private investers (while smoking the good stuff)?

we're financing that for them by paying $3/gallon for gas from the middle east.

That and their snow slope in the desert.

I was talking about the one in Florida, but yeah oil is financing Dubai's tourist industry right now. They are smart though, they are using the oil money to build infrastructure for a Tourist destination once the oil runs out. Not that I think gas should be $3.00 a gallon, or that we should even depend on oil as much as we do now, but that would be for another thread.

I think in another life where I'm wealthy I'd stay at the motel. I can only dream of it right now.

I have looked at this many times, though never stayed there. My wife, a good diver, isn't exaclty excited about the prospect. She has issues with small spaces. Oh well.

Now that proifts (gas prices) have risen, they are expanding the indoor desert snow slope to a much larger slope. (no I'm not kidding)

I have done some training at Jules Underwater Lodge in Key Largo. We have popped up inside the lodge to check it out. It is pretty darn neat. You can get a pizza delivered. Viz in Jules can be a little rough if there are a lot of divers in the water. Being in the Keys, they have a lot of iguana running around there. There is a sizable orange iguana that swims on top of the lagoon while you dive.
