View Full Version : Dive Report Lake Murray August 9th

We had another great meet and dive on August 9th at Lake Murray. The weather was great as it wasn't extremely hot for August. We had an awning setup and with the slight breeze we were very comfortable even while out of the water.

With the sparse membership we only logged 2 dives, but there were pretty lengthy dives. The water temp was great and was still a toasty 79 degrees at 40'. The vis wasn't as accommodating though. As one member said it was like driving through a winter fog. There were patches where the vis was quite good, and other places where the vis was little more than zero. :smiley24: Overall we probably had somewhere in the neighborhood of 3'. Not so good and I think the rain storm that went through the area 2 days prior had a little something to do with that.

Topside ya'll missed out on a great watermelon. Malibu Tinman brought a huge watermelon and we gorged ourselves on that while telling tales of the sea. :smiley36:

The next dive is going to be scheduled as a dive and cleanup, so keep your eyes peeled. This will be a great opportunity for everyone to get together, diver and non-diver for fun, fellowship and a chance to make both the topside and underwater water environment a little better for everyone.

Sry I missed it..... the wife and I were discussing going over to Murray but just never got the boat and gear ready to go..lol With three kids sometimes you just get sidetracked. Let us know next time and we will try to get over there at least to meet all of ya'll. We are in Durant so It doesn't take a lot for us to get to Murray! :smiley20:
