I seem to be cold blooded. I dive a 2mm shorty in 65F, got a little warm wearing a 7mm in 43F.

I was just wondering if I am insane to be considering a 5mm? I don't plan to do any ice diving. Does anyone else dive with a 5mm in the Great Lakes (Brockville exempted of course) Would love to try one first, but no one seems to rent 5mm in the Toronto area.

I would think few 'sane' folks will be using a 5mil in that area. You have to consider the effects on your body from extended and repeat exposure to those cold waters.....it is one thing to be able to dive a 5mil in cold water and another to consider it a healthy and safe choice regardless of how you think you feel.

Don't feel bad brother, I have a 7mm that has been compressed down to about a 5. And water under 50 degrees feels just fine to me.

depends on how deep you go.
