I went surfing and found curves has a free two week pass. I was wondering if anyone else goes to curves and if they are worth the money?

I would say no. I tried it for a while -it is not much of a work out. If you are fit enough to dive- the very, very low intensity machines they have will not do much for you. I think it is more geared towards those who have zero level of activity before joining.

...And many of them area closing. My brother & sister-in-law owned one & went out of business. Since then several more in my area have closed, including the one where my other sister & Mom belong...

I don't know what your politics are, but the founder of Curves is controversial:

Also, the two-week free pass is a common promotion in the health club industry, in fact if you ask in many gyms they will probably give you one if you say you are interested in joining. (I used to sell gym memberships and that was one of the incentives, then of course you call them repeatedly to ask them to join!)

Thank you for that!

No problem. I certainly don't want to get into that debate, but it's always good to know who and what you are supporting with your $$.

I guess "physical" fitness of the patrons may not be their goal. Interesting. Thanks.
