This is the Arc eye Hawkfish Paracirrhites arcatus. Hawkfish get their name as they lack a swim bladder and sit on reef ledges waiting to swoop down on their prey. They are quite easy to photograph being very approachable.

The Arc Eyes are beautiful fish. And aptly named. :)

I didn't know that hawkfish didn't have swim bladders.

*Brace Yourself* Maybe we should get them some tiny BCDs.

The stocky and blotched are great additions to the thread. Here is one of the Pygmy Hawkfish Cirrhitichthys falco. Spotted at Ha'apai, Tonga.
