What is this crap? This is my ScubaToys order. Delivery was scheduled for today with no problems. Went to check it and got this:

What kind of crap is that? The package leaves Dallas, then 4 days later ends up back in Dallas, stuck. And the hurricane that went through was like 5 days ago.

I bet it is hanging up a lot of things.

I had the same problems before the hurricane. UPS was holding shipments to FL until Ike turned south. It added 4 days to my shipping

Funny you mention 'adverse conditions'. I just looked at a UPS order, and it shows arriving today in Hartford, CT with the comment 'adverse weather conditions'. This is interesting, because there hasn't been any adverse weather conditions in Hartford for over a week. Well, the air temperature has started to dip below 50 at night? Maybe, as No Misses said, it means they held it someplace else until weather conditions improved.

The weather may have improved, but the infrastructure is still down. Parts TX are just gone and other parts of the country are flooded, have no power...
They may also have fuel shortages due to Ike; several stations have been out of gas in FL.

What I don't get is they knew Ike was coming... yet they shipped it directly into the problem zone, and now it's stuck there. Wouldn't common sense figure to ship it around the problem, not into it?

Well since ST is in Dallas and Mesquite is a suburb (the main UPS Hub for our area), I don't see a work around.

waytooslow is correct. At the local level, there is not much flexibility but they wouldn't have sent your stuff through TX if it came from CA. Once it gets to a main hub, it shouldn't go to another main hub that will experience long delays unless that's still the shortest route or the feeder hub to the final destination.

Odd... I take it back. My item is rescheduled for delivery for tomorrow. It was in Dallas at 11am Tuesday and in Syracuse, NY at 7pm Wednesday... either they drove pretty fast or threw it on an airplane.
