Hi

Does anybody know of a color filter that might fit the Sony MPK-WB Marine Pack case?

Sony used to make one (Sony part # VF-MP5K ) but supposedly has discontinued it.

Cant see this being too difficult to match up, but I have few to none camera stores in my area that deal in underwater photogarphy

I have the same setup, and have been unsuccessful in finding the exact part you are looking for... It's been a three year journey, and I'm giving up.

Is it a screw-in filter? UR/Pro might have one: URPRO Patented Underwater Correction Filters (http://www.urprofilters.com/storeHome.do)

What you will need is an adapter like sold with the MPK-WD. I am not sure if this adapter ring will fit both models. Then you will be able to add any UW filter/close up/wide angle with the same thread size. This one should be 62mm I believe.

Here is the adapter from Sea & Sea offered for the WPK-WD for reference.....

Adapter to attach to the Marine pack MPK-WD. Comes with a Set-Up Ring for mounting the Wide-Angle Conversion Lens 0.6x S or the Close-UP Lens 125 on the Marine pack MPK-WD. Can insert the Fiber-Optic Cable (L-type) into the connector socket.

Can you buy an oversized filter and mount it in front of the lens?

This depends on what you are looking for........... If you want a filter to compensate for color filtered out underwater (red) you can look at something like this (M A G I C - F I L T E R S (http://www.magic-filters.com/)). If this is your issue you really should look at pruchasing a strobe.

Red filters will not give you what you really want, especially below 30-40ft in my opinion. You can get really nice results in shallow well lit water with these though. You will still have to adjust your WB to get natural colors.

If you look at going with an adapter like this:
INON America - Product Catalog (http://inonamerica.com/products.php?prodcat=12)
http://inonamerica.com/content/products/pr_0501/pr_02448_md.jpg

You can attach multiple lenses and filters as long as the match the thread size............

This type of mount is made by multiple manufactures and this one is just an example.
