Here are a few pictures from Airborea Pier, Raja Ampat, Indonesia. One of my favorite all time dives - these are from April this year - after my flood : ( , so all these are with a Fuji 810 and an external 20mm wide angle lens.

Most excelent!!

I would love to make this trip. I will have to see if I can make the nice list instead of the naughty list next year.

Thanks everyone. I'm feeling the need for my next dive trip, so decided to look through my pictures for motivation. In the 2 trips I have taken to Raja Ampat, we dove this pier 5 dives; and every dive was incredible. I have over 400 shots from this dive. And I haven't had time to upload some of the other highlights - there are giant trichnadea clams (4 to 5 feet across) in 10 feet of water by the pier, a huge staghorn coral reef that has somehow survived despite the island being inhabited by extremely poor people (who are really wonderful people BTW). And there are also some great bommies (beautiful hard and soft coral mounds) in the deeper water off the end of the pier. Besides all the fish life, I've seen wobegong sharks here, cuttlefish, eppelaute sharks, ghost pipefish, tons of crabs/shrimp - you name it they have it (and the week before we were there, they found blue ring octopus - despite tons of searching, we couldn't find one). A truly incredible dive site - I must get back to Indonesia before I go into withdrawal!!!:smiley20::smiley20:

My friend from Great Britain has four openings for a trip to Norht Sulawesi (Bunaken and Lembeh - INCREDIBLE CRITTER DIVING) November 14-29 - I can get you a hell of a deal. Still considering going, but divorce went final last week (too many trips to Indonesia - LOL) so the bank account is a little empty at the moment. May take a few more evenings of looking at pictures before I reach the who cares about credit card balance stage and go for it :smiley20::smiley20:

I wish I could as well. Looks like I will have to start making plans for next year. I have burned all of the vacation time this year but the good news is I pick up an extra week Jan 1st.
I'm still paying the last "who cares about the credit card bill" right now....:smiley2:
