Wow, what a trip. Grouper for a couple of days, and then Bam! Guppy again. All of a sudden I am swimming around as a happy Grouper and I am shark bait again.

Now I am once again a happy Grouper. That was a close one.

Can I have another $50?

Atleast you got your GC before you got bumped down, I had have not got mine yet, and it is not fun to watch your post count go backards.

Why does your count go backwards?????
Yesterday I was at 40 then this morning I posted something and it shows me at 30. I'm confused, this could be a long journey to 250.

Yep, the Intro and Games thread don't count towards the post credit since some people were abusing it for the sake of their postcount getting closer to that 250..

I did not join the forum for the $50 gift Certificate, but now that I am close it sucks to go back a few posts (only 8 though)

I think you should stage a bloodless coup and overthrow Larry for the Grand Poobah title... :D

I'm on a few boards where you can hide your post count, I always like to do that...even on the one where I have 15,000 posts and the ones where I have 20. :D

The # of post counts means very little to me, even though it did catch me by surprise. I agree it was a good call by Larry. There are a lot of other forums where people have tens of thousands of post counts, and if you look at any, you'll find a good bunch with 1 word replies, or just an emoticon, (is that right? they smiley face things.....one of these-->:smilie40:)

Sad to see people abuse it in this forum to get 50 bucks....we'll find out who they are once they stop posting at 251.

I just hope this doesn't create more useless one word responses in the other forums.

I hope not too, but I think we've got a pretty good group here so far...

Yeah, the group is pretty good, but you can watch when you are surfing the board, and you see a username you never saw before, and they seem to have posted a quick response in everythread from the past week.

Bam! Larry Grand Poobah also carries an iaito, and will promptly dispatch with any wayfarers on the board.

Then again, perhaps Larry Grand Poobah's iaito is merely a computer mouse, and the 'click' required isn't as dramatic.

Although if you wanted, you *could* play dramatic samurai movie music whilst doing so. And laugh manically.

Agreed, and I like the idea, I was actually begining to be shy about posting in the SI forum as not to inflate my post count with "fun" threads. Now I can post and have fun whitout feeling like I'm abusing the system.
Good Call Larry.

I agree. I was feeling kinda guilty, but the games were fun! Now I know the $50 will be fore being a contributer.
