View Full Version : ScubaToys Forum Taking Over My Life

Vercingetorix

I'm not the addicitve type. Not really. After all, I've been on the OTHER scuba forum *cough*ScubaBoard*cough* and could come and go as I pleased.

The ST Forum is different in that this Forum is composed of folks who are, or want to be, customers of ScubaToys. We figure that given Joe and Larry run a first class retail operation, their Forum will be first class as well. Empirically, it is.

Therefore, I tend to spend a lot of time here. Too much. I'm even on this thing at work (instead of cruising the porno sites).

Bottom line: ScubaToys already has my money. Now, it wants my life.

STOP THE MADNESS...

thank you

Welcome to the meeting. The first step is admitting you have a problem.

Hi, my name is Thor. And I'm an ST addict. It's been 30 seconds since my last posting.

It's beating out porn for your time.

Dude, you have it bad!

Oh, wait I have the same additction.

Maybe we need to start the ST forum AA group.

We can get together over coffee & donuts and discuss anything but scuba.

We can get together over coffee & donuts and discuss anything but scuba.(say following in your best Homer Simpson voice) Mmmmmm.....donuts.

Anything but scuba? Well, let's see there's...no, that's not it. Then, again, there's...nope, that sounds like tank. Ahhh...forget it. Back to the Movie Game.

I'm not addicted, but I find myself enjoying the attitude over here more than SB. Mind you I still like SB, but I like that I can have a BC, Jet fins, and an AI computer, and still be respected on this board. ;)

I find that at least everyone here seems to have more to talk about than PADI vs. NAUI vs. SSI vs. Whatever......and there is a hell of a lot less "ELITISM". For that I thank everyone and ST. Like you I still check "the other" to see if there is anything of educational value but that's about it.

Which raises a question: Would it be improper if there was something really interesting over there to copy and post it on this forum?

Which raises a question: Would it be improper if there was something really interesting over there to copy and post it on this forum?I think you'll find that Larry and Joe are very open to infomation sharing among multiple resources. With these two guys, it's all about the education.

Rather than cut-and-paste, you may wish to simply link the URL and comment about what you found to be informative so that we can look for that info.

Just remember you only give the board the power if you let it. The first step is to admit you have a problem and that you are powerless over it. Now that I have posted this the first meeting is wednesday at ST bring $99 for the meeting and you should walk away with NITROX cert. for your effort.

Vercingetorix, sorry to hear you're addicted. I think you are on the right track. As someone already has said "Admitting you have a problem is the 1st step to being cured." Or something like that. I see many like you here on the forums. Too bad more of them are not like me.

I can quit any time I want. Really! . . . . . No I really can!!!!

This place is quite addicting. I've spent more time here than any other forum, ever, combined.... Like someone above said, I can have a octo-inflator combo and not feel like the scum of the earth...It's nice here. Looking forward to it growing to the point that the content is as vast as other boards for research. It will take time, but we'll get there...

So, is this a sign of a problem. I was responding to an email (yes actually working) and I used the term "post" in my response vs "email". I noticed it after it was sent.
