Consult your local Division of Natural Resources. Most of the regs should be in the fishing regulations. This is not always the case for diving, especially in land locked areas with little diving.

Probably best to speak to a Conservation Officer directly.

It may be that there are no regulations on spearfishing for your area. No rules can be a good thing sometimes.

As WV Diver said, just contact the local authorities having jurisdiction.

They know all the rules.

You may want to search Oklahoma fish game

It comes up with this for Oklahoma
fishing (http://www.wildlifedepartment.com/fishing.htm)

Then if I search Texas fish game
Texas Parks & Wildlife Department | Fishing & Boating (http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/fishboat/)

Then I read the regulations for each state and see if they require a separate license.

https://www.wildlifedepartment.com/o...escription.asp (https://www.wildlifedepartment.com/onlinesales/LicenseDescription.asp)

TPWD: Public Licenses and Fees - Recreational (http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/business/licenses/public/recreational/)

It looks like 2 separate licenses are required.

Then I read what fish are legal for each state. Sometimes you can go to a drugstore, Walmart, sporting goods store and get the license and fishing regulation booklets. They are also online normally.

Fishing Regulations (http://www.wildlifedepartment.com/fishregs.htm)

Gigs and spears are legal for taking nongame fish and white

bass only. Grabhooks (handheld hook or handheld pole or rope with a single hook attached used in the initial taking of a fish) are prohibited in all state waters, except SCUBA divers in Delaware and Mayes counties (excluding tailwaters which are closed) may use grabhooks to take nongame fish only from June 15 through July 31. Spearguns used by SCUBA divers are legal for taking nongame fish, blue and channel catfish.

Gigs, spears and spearguns shall:

• not contain more than three (3) points with no more than two (2) barbs on each point;
• be lawful in all rivers and streams from Dec. 1 through Mar. 31, and year-round in all reservoirs, unless restricted under “Special Area Regulations.”
• Gigs shall be lawful year-round in rivers and streams in Delaware and Mayes Counties, unless restricted under

“Special Area Regulations.”

Interesting. Is the state seal an Indian Shield?

Have you ever fished for these fish in Oklahoma?

Oklahoma Game fish - largemouth, smallmouth and spotted bass, black and white crappie, rainbow and brown trout, sauger, saugeye, walleye, striped bass, white bass, blue and channel catfish.

Good Luck!
