Hi folks,

I would like to display some of my UW photos. Has anyone found a good photo shop to print on canvas?

I saw the technique at an art show recently and really liked the effect of the canvas texture. Now I need to find a good place to order from.

Thanks.

I couldnt tell you of any shops to order from but shop around for a few prices first and who offers the best service. I am looking at doing some over here and most often you get a much better rate if you run of say 6 or more (depending on the size of the canvas).

hope this helps.

Personally, you could open up the photo in say... photoshop..****n it through a canvas texture filter, print it, and frame it, and save beaucoup bucks.

I suppose I could, but I really like the art effect of the wrapped frame

My company can do that. I'll knock-off 10% since you're a fellow scuba enthusiast.

Go to Picture It On Canvas (http://www.pictureitoncanvas.com). During check-out, enter coupon code NPP10 and I'll take off 10%.

You may want to try one of your local professional developing houses. I realize developing isn't what it one was but canvas prints was one of the services.

While on a visit to one of the places back in the 90's I saw the process. The photo was placed over the canvas and huge pressure was exerted on the photo to actually press it into the canvas.

The results were quite impressive and my wife sold quite a few of them

I have seen some stuff out there that you paint on your photo with a brush and as it dries, it adds brush textures to the "print" I like to do things myself. Look on line for photo printing, albums, and developing supples.

check this site out Pictopia (http://pictopia.com/) they do the large format framed art at backscatter photo (the place i cant seem to leave without spending money or having a need to lust after new equipment) anyhow, most pics look terrible in large format and pictopia upscales the image to get a very nice result. its a little expensive, but these pieces are very nice.
