I'm looking for a book on algae/seaweeds to add to my collection, and I think I've narrowed it down to two. In case any of you have opinions, I'd love to hear them. I'd like a book with nice photos so I can learn to ID the algae I see along the California coast while diving. Preferably one that includes at least a moderate amount of natural history information. I do not want an overly technical reference (like "Marine Algae of California"), but one that will help me to ID seaweeds while diving.

My two candidates (Amazon listings):

Amazon.com: Pacific Seaweeds: Druehl Louis, Louis Druehl: Books (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1550172409?ie=UTF8&tag=1234567890059-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=1550172409)

Amazon.com: Seaweeds of the Pacific Coast: Common Marine Algae from Alaska to Baja California: Jennifer Mondragon, Jeff Mondragon: Books (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0930118294?ie=UTF8&tag=1234567890059-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=0930118294)

Anyway, let me know which of these you'd recommend (or any others that come to mind), and why.

Thanks!
