I am a novice with underwater photography. I have a Panasonic DMC-TZ3 with the Panasonic housing. I would like to get an external strobe and have been thinking of getting the Fantasea Remora (http://www.fantasea.com/s.nl/it.A/id.340/.f?sc=2&category=493). It has the below features. I would appreciate any comments.

Adjustable power output (10%-100%)
4 pre-flash settings
Powerful 4.2 W-second flash-tube
Guide Number 20 (ISO 100 in air)
Flash diffuser included
Uses 4 x AA batteries (alkaline or rechargeable)
Approx. 240 flashes per set of batteries
Quick recycle time
Slave sensor Attachment for fiber optic cable
Beam angle 80 degress horizontal
Color temperature 5400K
Depth rated to 55m/180 feet

What price? I'm finding it for $198 alone or $298 with arm and mount. I've been looking at strobes but have balked at price. This might cause mre to open my wallet.

Also...check with ST. Joe will special order just about ANYTHING. Then, you get the 10% discount. Regardless, call Joe before you order.

Seems like a decent strobe for a P&S system. I would like to see what the cost will be before saying this is a value.

For $298 with the arm and tray it would be very cost effective compared to simular strobes on the market.

The only product I have ever used from Fantasea is the Nano focus light and I have been very happy with that especially for the price.
