I would get her a gift card or take her to ST's or LDS and let her try everything on then purchase it for her.

If you're just wanting a recommendation, I would suggest the TUSA tri-ex fins and maybe a TUSA splendive-II mask. Both come in great girlie colors like pastel pink. My daughter LOVES hers. And they both came from Scuba Toys. They have other colors too, but pink is popular.

Face it, many women are as concerned with "good looking" gear as they are about "good quality". If she's happy wearing it, she'll be apt to dive more and enjoy diving more.

Get the hot pink everything - they are always on sale. Better than diamonds :D

Just playin..:smiley36:

Id get her a Giftcard to your LDS and let her pick and choose what fits her and what she likes..its the only solid way to make sure shell get something that fits and she likes - this will also make her want to dive more when she has gear she likes :smiley20:

Above is good advice!!

My wife and I ordered our personal gear packages through ST..Wife is 5'1" and 105 so fit was an issue.. She ended up with small Tusa Zooms, and the kids version of the Genesis Panview. All has worked out for her, and the $$ were about half of what the LDS wanted for comparable gear..

my girlfriend wear Tusa splits, and likes them for the little effort it takes to move. and since i can move fast, less work for her.

Tusa here too. Mask Snorkel and Fins for her. in nice powder pink or PP. I like telling her she looks like PP. I am easily amused.

I have smaller feet and I use the Aqua glide snorkeling fins by Deep See. They work well for dives as well...

I have the Tusa zooms (I have big feet) but I do have the children's mask (small noggin).

I do have an all clear tusa splendive IV mask in the for sale section. It's pretty small.

I'd go for Mares Avanti, AvantiTre, or Quattros.

I like Cressi HF 2000 if freediving.

I have the tusa Tri-ex fins, they come in a bunch of colors, but I'm a blue girl so most of my stuff comes in blue, which seems to be readily available. But they also come in a bunch of other colors. They are bent at an angle to reduce strain from kicking. I'm smaller so it helps me to move faster when I need to.

I have scuba classmates who are girls, and our instructor recommended the Tusa Liberator X. So far I haven't heard anything bad about them from my classmates, so maybe you should consider this model for your girlfriend.

What fins to get for girl friend?
Dunno. Depends upon what she's worth in the trade. Perhaps, you could get Smoke on the Water split fins for her

//sometimes, I just crack me up...sometimes.
//I got nuthin'

I'd cast my vote for the Tusa Xpert Zooms, ST's running some ridiculous deals on some close out colors. My girlfriend has the Atomic splits and she borrowed my Zooms, now I'm out a pair of Zooms :) She loves them and prefers them over the Atomics.

Certainly go with some splits. Tusa X-Pert Zooms. Can't go wrong

You're gonna need to know her shoe size - height and weight don't always match up to shoe size. I'm fairly tall (5'7") but wear a size 6 shoe. People joke about me tipping over if its windy :smiley1:

I love my fins - Mares Volo Power - but they may be a bit out of your budget. I think they run about $150, but they are worth every penny. Very light and lots of power.

I will admit I do love those pink Tusa fins. They sell a pink combo pack with snorkel, mask, and fins. Most girls would love it!

And then there is the best gift of all - a gift card to ST!!

Did anyone notice that the OP asked his question in August 2007?

I think his GF has fins by now, or else doesn't need them anymore. :D

Fins go on your feet, and so they qualify as shoes, and so us girls need 2,000 pairs of them :smiley2:
