Hey everyone. I will be taking a trip to Thailand later this year (mid-November) and am looking for some advice. As of right now it looks like I will be able to get 2 days of diving in (maybe 3 if everything works out right) and will be staying in Phuket. If anyone has any suggestions for places to stay, dive sites, companies to work with, or anything else that you think is important I could use some help.

Thanks!

If I may be forgiven for offering my own services, I'd be glad to help. Our own forum guru, CompuDude, has been here diving with my assistance, and his trip report is here (http://forum.scubatoys.com/trips-travel/9755-thailand-trip-report-jan-2008-a.html).

You might like to check out my brand-new website (http://forum.scubatoys.com/www.gekkoscubadivers.com) for additional information, including quite a list of dive site descriptions.

Let me know if/how I can help!

Where to stay kinda depends on your budget and what you want to do other than diving. We stayed at Marina Phuket (http://www.marinaphuket.com/home.html) resort, which was stunning but pricey.

Quero did a great job of handling the dive arrangements. Well worth it, if you have any questions feel free to PM me!

Ooops! Guess I wasn't allowed to do THAT (post a link to my own site). Sorry about the faux-pas! I've put it where it belongs, now! (I think.)

Hi marcia ...
Nice website; simple, informative, lovely color full of funs.
But, you forget to put your best specialities in the scubaschool page, ie. Ocean bubble maker - at least for Melati, you're the best instructor.

Cheers

Yes, you can link to your site, since it's relevant. The link just wasn't formatted correctly. I've fixed it in the quote above.

Hi Wisnu,
Thanks for the kind words in RE the website!
Tell you what... I'll add the Bubble maker info if you'll send me a photo that shows me and Melati together (if you've got one), and get Melati to write a couple of paragraphs about her diving experiences (or you can do it togethr with her). It was a joy working with her, and I can hardly wait until she's old enough to do Jr OW (I hope you'll bring her back to do that with me!).

Marcia,
No problem, I've asked her to write something - but the pictures are not goods. She'll be 10 by end of August this year; can't wait for Jr. OW and start reading the PADI book.

Cheers

What a lovely little account of her experiences she wrote! And the pictures aren't bad. I wish we could see her face, but it's clear she's relaxed and having a great time! I'll get her account and the photos up on the website very soon!

M.

Later edit: And for anyone interested, here is Melati's account (http://www.gekkoscubadivers.com/praise-for-marcia.html) of her dive experience in Phuket.
