Finally...all my pr0n on a single disc.

IGN: Pioneer Debuts 400GB Disc (http://au.gear.ign.com/articles/935/935074p1.html)

I put this in the Man's Forum, because this discusses tech stuff. And them wimim folk shouldn't be worrying their pretty little heads 'bout stuff that's complicated.

This will be the disk tech that replace BluRay in another 5-10 years. I am so over hard media storage... my stuff all resides on a 10TB array now.

Interesting to say the least. Blu-ray compatible to say the least. Now it they could make it a little smaller.

True 3D hologram storage is likely the next really big thing in storage tech. 3D storage can allow for a ridiculous amount of storage capacity in a very small package. It is also non-volatile and depending on the medium would have excellent environmental constraints. The technology could even implement a truly permanent data store as opposed to existing technologies that often only deliver a decade or two.

Pretty interesting new design, but I'll believe it when it starts shipping in large numbers and shows up on the shelf at Best Buys across the country at a reasonable price.

Lots of insanely huge capacity technology prototypes have been shown off over the years that have never made it to market for various reasons... or if they have made it to market, they never succeeded due to compatibility problems, unforeseen issues, or simple cost considerations.

Apparently my company security agrees with you .... I got the infamous 'Access Denied' scurity screen when trying to open your link .... :smiley36: a few more of those, and they'll come looking for me! :smiley13:

I've been in IT for nearly 40 years now. We are the High Priests of High Technology.

I guess your IT department doesn't like IGN. It is not a porno site or anything even close. It's a computer game news and information site.

Our IT dept. doesn't like anything .... we can't have the word lottery, casino and a myriad of other things show in a internet search .... or we get what we call the 'hand of death' (used to be a big hand that would pop up and say STOP!) Seem like banking IT is still living in the dark ages .....:smiley21: We're not even allowed to access Hotmail, Yahoo Mail or any of the e-mail sites used these days.

Well, that makes sense Kat, they don't want anyone using bank access for anything but banking...anything more is an affront to the bottom line and the motto: "Do everything with less!"

Those of us on the retail bank side have been pinching pennies for YEARS, so that lending can blow it all ... personally I haven't had a raise in 5 years, I eat lunch at my desk while working, so I think I've done my part for the bottom line .... there's not much 'less' I can do!
