If you haven't already, you might check out the reviews at Scuba Diving Magazine at Scuba Diving Magazine - Computers (http://scubadiving.com/gear/divecomputers/) . There are also user reviews of various computers on ST as well as Scuba.com. I have a Sherwood Wisdom 2, which works nicely for me, which I'd recommend.

I like the Suunto Cobra 2. Don't know anything about the others.

The new Suunto Vyper Air (wireless) and Cobra 3 look pretty sweet.

I'll second the Sherwood Wisdom - other than som (resolved) problems getting the USB cable to work - it's a great rec computer.

I like my Mares Airlab. Gives lots of data, calculates the surface consumption rate on the fly so you can see it while you are diving.

Another vote for the Wisdom II; however, got it for christmas (cashed in all the gift certificates) but haven't been able to use it yet. But, it sure looks good hanging on reg in closet.

If I wanted AI on a hose, Suunto Cobra 3. But I prefer wrist mounted and AI is not a big deal for me. The D6 on my wrist does what I need without AI.

I don't know all of the details, I'm sure ST does, Sherwood is running a trade-in discount program on the Wisdom II until April 30, 2009.

Personally, I see far more issues with hose mounted AI computers than wrist computers (AI or otherwise). I'm not a big fan.

Why's that? Snag point?

No idea. Just seen far more instances of suddenly dead computers hanging off a hose than on someone's wrist. Something to do with the pressure fitting? Dunno.

Another vote for Wisdom II. It is the only one I have used so I can't say it is better than others. I do find it easy to use, it is easy for me to read, and is Nitrox compatible.
