So, here I am in my post-dive blues (happens everytime :) ) and I decided to look at the posts, etc for the DDCN dive. Impressive numbers to say the least. 26 threads, 1,023 replies so far and 12,021 views.

In fact, the DDCN club is now numer one in the number of total posts with 1,898 and second behind Texas Swamp Divers in total threads 93 to 123.

Not wanting to create a competition, but for one of the newer ST clubs, I would say we're doing well. Good Job Don and DW!

They are calling for mid 60s so it probably won't be near cold enough for you anyways. :smiley2:

I think I need to go diving again soon because I just didn't get enough time underwater. Oh and this adds one more to the reply count.

I looked back at the postings and it looks like DW and cRNA did the first DDCN dive on 3/1/08 at Stockton Lake.

yea, the group was conceived a few weeks or a month or so before that dive.

3/1/08 sounds like a good anniversary though.

I think it was a week before that post... Not 100% sure. Only Don knows for sure.

was just curious when was the birth of DDCN

My first post in the DDCN forum was on 2-21-08. The actual birth took place prior to this post in the chat room. It happened over approximately a one week period. I then contacted ST Larry and our club forum was created. So I think we can celebrate the actual birth on 2-21. First club dive was 3-1, with three people (two divers) in attendance.

You have to dive naked in the cold waters of Lake Win-a-To-chee....

(That's not Lake Win-a-To-chee!!!!:smilie39::smilie39::smilie39:)

And the cool aid washed off at 120ffw!

You are trying to quote the movie "Purple Rain".

Apollonia asks Prince what she has to do to play at First Avenue, or something like that.

Prince says "You have to purify yourself in the waters of Lake Minnetonka.

She strips down and jumps in the body of water they are standing by.

Prince says "That isn't Lake Minnetonka".

Lake Minnetonka is a real lake west of Minneapolis. I have been boating there and jumped in on our cruise after finishing anesthesia school

hahahahaha - Oh CRNA. That's funny. You forgot to add that she was absolutely freezing upon jumping in the water.

I'm going to give you so much $$it for knowing about that scene. I was a huge Prince fan in 1984 and probably saw the movie 20 times, but even I don't remember the movie enough to detail it out like this!

I grew up around there. It is easy to remember the name of the lake. it was a running joke with my friends.

And all the guys were closet Prince fans.

That was the only way for a guy to be a fan of Prince. I've heard all kinds of things about his music, how it was ahead of it's time etc but it seems women liked him best. I think it was his image that did it.

Absolutely!!!! The Brontosaurus ribs were indeed a little tough, but with the right BBQ sauce, they were great! Not to mention the omolets you could make with Pteradactyl eggs.

But the best were the Triceretops Prime Rib: tender, juicy and oh, so good! :smilie39:

Not even Kobe beef can compete.
