My family gave me a Sea and Sea DX1200 as my birthday present. I am looking to purchase the 8GB memory card for the camera but do not know which memory card to buy. Can I just go to Best Buy an buy any 8GB card or there is something special that I should look for? Thanks

You want one that says Class 6 on it.

I use the SanDisk extreme III sdhc cards in my dslr. They are great and super fast. Kinda pricy though, but really reliable.

Every so often SanDisk offers great rebates. They are usually graduated (i.e. the more you buy the much better the rebate). I co-worker got 3 8GB extreme III cards for $10 each after rebate. The rebate was around $100.

Here is a current sandisk rebate: http://www.abesofmaine.com/abeimg/rebates/sandisk_rebate-%206-27-09.pdf

8GB Extreme III -Buy 1 card, get $20 back. Buy 2 cards, get $50 back. Buy 3 cards, get $90 back

Search for who had the cheapest card. I searched by part # SDSDX3-008G-A31
buydig.com has them for $55 ea. If you buy 3 it works out to be $25 per card.
17photo.com has them for $45 per card, buy 3 & works out to be $15 per card + S&H.

Make sure that the vendor is listed on the rebate. Amazon has them for $37 ea b4 rebate but they are not listed on the rebate.
