What is the best chick flick?

I vote for Pretty Woman or Officer And A Gentleman.

Thank you, Scuba Widow. I've been chastised for daring to make an entry in the Women's Forum.

Just a few days ago I sat down with my 7 yr old daughter and watched High School Musical (haven't seen the second one yet) and thoroughly enjoyed it! The soundtrack is pretty good. So I ask my female (and male as well) diving peers: is this acceptable?

scuba Widow
08-25-2007, 14:59
no problem...I like it when a man shows his sensitive side.

scuba Widow

Mine is "Love Actually" because it's a great combo of a chick-flick and a holiday movie.

And hot guys with accents help it too :)

Ditto on "Love Actually". My eyes well up just thinking about it. My favorite part is the little boy and, of course, Rodrigo Santoro in his boxer briefs! Also loved "Cinema Paradiso". Actually wept loudly first time I saw it.:smiley19:

Good choice on the Pride and Prejudice selection!!

Oh, Mr. Darcy.

This does remind that I love both Bridget Jones movies.

I'm a big fan of Thelma and Louise for the girls kick a$$ vibe, oh yeah and a young Brad Pitt doesn't hurt either. Dirty Dancing is the ultimate have-to-watch-it-everytime-it's-on-tv chickflick.

Cool Thread... just what I need :) Have been wanting to hire a few chick flicks to chill out to, and do not know where to start!

For me:
Sleepless in Seattle
Pretty Woman
High School Musical (it counts right?)
Bride and Prejudice (my kids love it too)
Roman Holiday (Audrey Hepburn... I'm showing my age!!!)
Intermezzo - don't know who, don't know when, only that it was black and white and I cried like crazy when they showed it on TV.

The Joy Luck Club. Even though I'm not Chinese, I've never seen a film capture mother/daughter relationships so well.

Oh, and League of their Own, which even Madonna was good in - that's great directing!

The ones I've found I'll watch over and over include: Ever After, Bridget Jones' Diaries (have watched both about 2 or 3 times in the last couple months or so; that's all that seems to be on TV lately!), My Best Friend's Wedding, Dirty Dancing, When Harry met Sally, Sleepless in Seattle, Pretty Women, Notting Hills, The Truth About Cats and Dogs. Saw Waitress recently and liked that one too.
