Every once in a while, someone asks about underwater towns or buildings. There is a lodge/hotel, girls school, and old bridge in Lake Jocassee. However, those are serious tech dives. The graveyard from the movie 'Deliverance' is located there as well. (check my photos) When the water level was down, it was around 114' to 120'.

How about something easier? in the 65' to 75' range. The only catch is that it is a bloody silt nightmare, so please excuse the poor quality of the photos. I'll post the specifics tomorrow, as I'm tired, but wanted to get these up for ya'll.

cheers

The Keowee Pumphouse that supplied water to the town of Seneca, South Carolina before lake was filled.

These are the folks to hook up with-Upstate Scuba (http://www.upstatescuba.com/Home_Page.html)

This was my first time diving with their shop, so I was a bit apprehensive because I did not know much about them other than they are affiliated with SSI (Scuba Schools International) (http://www.divessi.com/).

Upstate Scuba opened in 2004 I believe and is located in the town of Clemson. (about 20min down the road from me) I hope the Tigers do well this year.

Air temps yesterday were in the mid-80s. Temp at 72' was 66 degrees, so not so cold with 5 mil Farmer. I should have dressed down and brought different gloves, but one never knows during the early months of summer in this area.

Always a challenge to get good pictures in lakes, but that's the fun of it. Should have brought my Wide Angle lens, next time I will.

It was an enjoyable afternoon.

Hey, maybe we could meet over there and I could show you the "smaller dive towel" pic. I'm scared to post it here. :smilie39:

Is this dive a shore dive? Can it be reached by kayak? GPS numbers? Anyone want to dive it on July 10th? Or dive anywhere close on the 10th?

Not a shore dive, and I would not be out there in a kayak because of the crazed boaters/Jetskiers.

The site is located a few hundred yards away from the Marina.

cheers
