the thread I could find was from 2007 so thought I'd give it another shot. From the original thread, I sounded as if the posters were of the opinion that spearinbg the great lakes was illegal, but I didn't see this in the documentation: Michigan Legislature - Section 324.48703 (http://www.legislature.mi.gov/(S(z1m5lq55efzn0kvp1vs0zd55))/mileg.aspx?page=getobject&objectname=mcl-324-48703&queryid=19480798&highlight=spear%20AND%20fishing)

Also, I just saw a Bow&arrow fishing charter which, to me anyway is very similar in the eyes of the law.

did I miss something in the text? It would be pretty cool to be able to go after the "one that got away"!:smiley20:

When I was younger we used to take part in "carp shooting" competitions that involved hunting fish with a bow and arrow in Lake Erie... I know that doesn't answer the question, but it does clarify that bow and arrow is definitely allowed in the great lakes.
