I decided to make a new thread so it would be easier to keep track of things. This is a list of things needed for the cookout on the 25th.

Grill- Mocepts
Burger- WVDiver
Tables- Eric
Ketchup/Mustard- Eric
Dessert
Hotdogs or Brats (if people want them)
Buns
Cheese/Pickles (if desired)
Baked Beans
Other sides (Mac salad, potato salad, other secret recipes)
Chips
Paper plates/napkins
Plastic ware

Now, for drinks, should we have everybody bring their own, or does someone want to get some 2 liters and some water?

So post up and I will keep track of everything.

FYI, the wife, my son and I decided to go up today for a dive since it was so nice out. Air was only in the mid 60s, but the water was 79 at the surface, and 78 down around the platforms. We didn't go much lower, cause viz is bad and they like to see.

How far was the vis?

How far was the vis?

I'd say around 8ft. About normal for the Storm. We were the only ones there, so it was stirred up too bad.

did you feed the catfish?

did you feed the catfish?

I try not to do that unless there is a new diver or something cause they just go crazy. There did seem to be a lot more than usual though. You'll always see a good many, but I bet we had 2 dozen or more all over us the whole time. Maybe they smelled my breakfast biscuit. :smiley36:

I have one and should be able to stick it in our car. I can fold a rear seat down. If it fits I'll bring it or I try to get it in my friends Pt Cruiser who should be coming.

What is the general time for people to show up? What about diving time?

We should all have name tags so we all know each other.

Last fall, people showed up anytime between 9ish and 12ish. There were plenty of dive buddies, so there was always someone to hook up with. It's pretty relaxed. We'll have the grill going, and you can pretty much dive and eat at your leisure. I'll be there early. Probably before 9.

I will be getting to the campsite around 9 ish...give an hour to set up a new tent we have never tried before...so I would say we'll be there around 10-1030. I am only bringing one tank since the wife will be with.

I'll let you know, I'm still eating mine. I had a strawberry marshmallow, about the size of my head! And just ask my wife, and she'll tell ya I have a huge head. :smilie39: They were really good.

mselizann

Is it inhumane to roast a marshmallow peep??

No, but it's more fun to microwave 'em and watch the fun....

scubajane

My son pokes a toothpick in each one and than microwaves them. they look like they are dueling
apparently a whole bag in a the microwave on high for 10 min is a fairly common dorm prank. what a mess

I've done the peeps with tooth picks too. Forgot about that one...
