I read about this when I was looking up giaant jelly fish after they were mentioned on Deadliest Catch.
Can't imagine seeing that under water!

While the photo is a good one, I really can't tell how big the jelly is from that photo. It looks to me like the diver has a good distance between him and the jelly. Even so, 6' across is impressive.

You wouldn't catch me anywhere near one of those things. Imagine how bad the sting would be.

I was wondering that as well. I read the article and found myself wondering how those beasties were able to destroy nets.

Is that his Spg hanging way out in front of him?

I think it's a camera. It kind of looks like his spg is yellow and at waist level. Which is one reason I think that the divers a bit away from the jelly, he's a little out of focus where the jelly is crisp and well in focus.

I you look there is another diver just below him. You can see him through the nettles, look for bubbles. I think they are a few feet to the side of the jelly.

I was guesing diver #1 is about 10' away and D #2 is 20' maybe more.

You got to wonder....Would it hurt more due to the size or would the potency of the sting be less due to size?
