Hi, Iím in Melbourne and trying to find some outlets that sell diving equipment at a reasonable price. In particular 15lt tanks. Possibly second hand, can anyone suggest somewhere, Thanks

Have you tried getting a quote from diveimports.com? They used to do Fabers at a semi-reasonable price. I paid AU$350 or so for my 15l 2 years back but their prices may have gone up since then. You'll need to e-mail them as they don't put Faber prices on their website.

DiveTub (http://www.divetub.com.au) Bought a couple of things from them and they have always price matched the US stores

DiveImports (http://www.diveimports.com.au) For cylinders, cheapest in Australia but the rest of the gear they sell is of pretty ordinary quality.

SubAquatic Solutions (http://www.subaquatic.com.au) for scooters and other high end bits

Hey guys, don't forget our sponsors, Scubatoys (http://www.scubatoys.com/)! With the way the exchange rate is heading, it's making purchasing from the USA look even nicer than it is already.

Chriso at Divetub will match prices from overseas, but he doesn't have everything. For everything else Scubatoys is your friend.

I've purchased from Scubatoys and one secret I'll let you in to, is send a PM to Joe or Larry and ask them for a quote using USPS for postage (US equivalent of Aussie Post). USPS takes longer than UPS, but can be significantly cheaper.

True but where ever possible I will support our local Aussie guys :smiley20:
You just can't beat local support and service in Australia espesially when it is the same price as buying O/S

Yep, you can't complain about the support and service here in Australia - there isn't any! (chrisso excepted)

I waited 3 months for my Fabers from diveimports...the winner for them was the $6 land postage and the tanks were metric.

Yea agree Dive Imports are pretty slack at times and tend to stock only the lower end of dive gear, of course they are still the cheapest place to buy tanks but a 3 month wait is kinda crazy. Chriso @ DiveTub on the other hand seems to get good wraps on all the local Aussie forums.

Chriso at Divetub is awesome, I've bought plenty of stuff from him. What he can't get I get from ST!
