What'd you have in mind? I've got plans to depart from Wichita, head towards either Oronogo or parts south Sat afternoon, Want to get at least 2-3 dives in-location negotiable.

I would prefer going to Oronogo because it's a shorter drive for me and I've been wanting to dive there for awhile. I've got 2 AL80s so could do a a dive or two off each one depending on what you would want to do. A lot depends on how cold the surface interval interval would be.

Not 100% sure if I'll be able to make it just yet, it just depends on how the week goes. I'll let you know later next week though.

It was nice to run into the Adventure Sports divers. The conditions at Oronogo were excellent. This is the first time I have been there in over a year. The bubbler's Capt. John has installed are working wonderfully. Temps at 94' were 63 degrees and 15' vis. I have never been there in the past where the temperature wasn't around 50 degrees, even in Aug.

Damn that's a heck of a lot warmer than Beaver Lake. Right now they're saying the temp is gonna drop slowly this week so once again looks like miserable surface intervals and warmer water than air.

By the way Soonerwink, I'm the guy from the lake clean up that you talked to in C&Js. Talked to you about Zeagle BCs and BP/W.

I dove with soonerwink this past weekend and we had two great dives. Water was nice and company was better. He is not kidding about water temps at 94 ft being 63 degrees. I was as surprised as he was. I am sure that Capt. John had turned the bubbler off before he left for DEMA in Fla. two weeks ago. Still it was a great day to dive at Oronogo.

No, It's 49.9deg. @ 177' deep.:smilie39: and viz. closed down to 2' below 160 ish. on the south wall. There is a white looking haze that reflects light. Looks sorta like fog. Very Strange.

New Year's Day! Duh! LOL

Then in March. And you can usually get them to open for a minimum gate fee of $100. 5 divers x $20=$100. Or 1 diver at $100, if you are a desperate solo diver.

the $100 depends on the number of people. Remember last February? We were anticipating each diver would pay $4 because we had so many peeps confirmed it only took $4 per person to come up with $100.

There is a price point. When the per diver fee to equal $100 is LESS THAN the normal gate price, John charges normal gate fees.

Well lets see here. In the past John did open for a New Years Dive and yes for $100.00 minimum for one day. He also has opened for the season in mid-April. He will close the second week of December this year and we may have new owners shortly after that. Some things may change a little and others will remain the same for the time being.

Who's going 2 B the new instrutor??

rsmith4656
11-15-2009, 09:34
No Problem with the jokes there navyhmc. Just who would you think would be the instructor Maverick. Do you think we would import some poor fool to do that? Really Capt. John and Regina are going to stay on as instructors for a while and John will remain as Course Director of Record. They will be getting me up to speed in the coming months.
