Greater Omaha SCUBA Club Holiday Party

Date: Thursday, December 10
Place: Granite City Food & Brewery, 1001 N. 102nd St., Omaha, NE
Time: 7:00PM

Bring a gift wrapped sea-themed or scuba-themed holiday ornament for the ornament exchange. It can be challenging finding sea-themed or scuba-themed ornaments in NE/IA but we had some great ones last year. Spouses/children/friends are welcome. Just make sure everyone brings an ornament. There will be a Chinese auction of scuba related items donated by DiVentures, items donated by club members, and an item donated by MidCoast Scuba. Come join the fun!

Have fun! Unfortunately, I'm 200 miles south. Besides, would you allow a Kansas diver in? :smiley36:

From Wikipedia:
The difference between a raffle and a Chinese auction is that in a raffle with multiple prizes, there is one "hat" from which names are drawn, but in a Chinese auction each prize has its own "hat". This allows ticket buyers to choose which prize to focus on, as opposed to having a first, second, third, etc. prize.

For example, if you really wanted to win a scuba tank, you could put all your tickets into the "hat" for the scuba tank.

Hey Tom, Welcome home! I know, a little late. There is a dive club here in Doo-Dah, but it seems that their meetings are always while i"m working. in fact, I think they're called the Doo-Dah Divers.
