Folks,

I would really like to make the New Year's Day dive at Oronogo for a few hours. However, I have the kids for their Christmas vacation and need a babysitter for a nearly 10 and nearly 6 year old.

I only live 3 miles from the dive site. I have cable TV and food. :-D

Anyone have any ideas?

That's gonna be a tough day to find a BB Sitter. Good luck Don! Deep Voice..

John has a class room in the back with seating. Get a movie and going back in the room and go diving.

bring them, they'll be occupied by carrying tanks down the hill all day.

I wish, but the tanks weigh more than they do! Maybe I can put them in the pen and you can occupy them while they whine when I walk down the hill....

Oh, wait. That was the DOGS, not the kids!

D, if your New Year's Day dive gathering is anything like ours, you should be fine.

Just like last year, this year I plan to be topside taking care of the chili while the nut jobs jump in the quarry and freeze. There will be plenty of us topside who would be more than happy to play with someone's cute kids.

It isn't much like yours. I have been there many years and it is not the camaraderie experience you describe. We believe that we have solved the issue with a teenage son of a fellow diver.

I only wish I could be there...but with my typical reply to the fun: I'm working dammit!!!!!

Deep Voice: I've got plans on being there. Diving plans are to around 170'ish for about 20min. of bottom time. Plan on diving right out front around the "Lower Landing" and looking for a certain cave entrance and exit. Nothing too crazy...:)

If it's the entrance that I've talked to someone about I heard that it's silts out pretty bad. I wish I could go diving with you on the 1st but can't do it this year.

Deep Voice: I'm feeling like I may be coming down with a head cold as of this evening. I may not go myself if it get much worse.

New Years diving was great this year! I had a great time. It was good to see old friends and make some new ones. Dinner was great too! :smiley31:

20-30 foot vis and a great babysitter!

Water temp was fine, so was the air temp, until we got out. Drysuit helped, by hands and head were brutal cold when wet.
