I just got back from the last dive of my quick trip to Kona and was treated to a Humpback drive by. We were diving just off the old airport at Pawai Arches and a juvenille Humpback swam by just above the drop off. Unfortunately, it was at the the end of the dive and my camera batteries were exhausted.:bigcry: The night before we did the Manta dive and had 7 show up, I'm thinking the whale was the most impressive sight of the trip.:smiley20:

So now I'm on my no fly time and stuck with snorkeling.

Nice!! We were treated to a 40' adult Humpback swimming by us a couple of weeks ago while diving in Maui! My husband was lucky enough to get pictures. :D :D

Its definitely the highlight of our trip too!! Congrats, that's a rare experience and one you should relish.

Yes, very cool. They're much more abundant off the west side of Maui, but I've been told they're starting to come around more now that the cruise ships have cut back to once a week in Kona. The whale song was very loud yesterday during both dives.
