Wow, Uuugggllyy!:smiley5:

Reminds me of stuff my best friend and his dad caught in the Kanawha River. This one, obviously alive somehow, was white, like little pins instead of scales, and lumps where it's fins should be.:smiley11:

The blobfish (Psychrolutes marcidus)

Blobfish are found at depths where the pressure is several dozens of times higher than at sea level (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sea_level), which would likely make gas bladders (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gas_bladder) inefficient. To remain buoyant, the flesh of the blobfish is primarily a gelatinous mass with a density (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Density) slightly less than water; this allows the fish to float above the sea floor without expending energy on swimming. The relative lack of muscle is not a disadvantage as it primarily swallows edible matter that floats by in front of it.
It can be caught by bottom trawling with nets. There is some concern that the blobfish is being threatened by excessive bottom trawling in the waters off Australia, which may be its only habitat.
