Family on holiday in Australia for a week and a half when husband, wifeand their 15 year old son decided to go scuba diving. The husband isinthe navy and has had some scuba experience.
His son wanted a pic of his mum and dad in all their gear so got theunderwater camera. When it came to taking the pic the dadrealized that the son look like he was panicking as he took it and gavethe "OK" hand sign to see if he was alright.

The son took the pic and swam to the surface and back to the boat asquick as he could so the mum and dad followed to see if he was OK.Whenthey got back to him he was scrambling onto the boat and absolutely sh1tting himself.

When the parents asked why he said "there was a shark behind you"andthe dad thought he was joking but the skipper of the boat said it was true and that they wouldn't believe him if he told them what it was.

Assoon as they got back to the hotel they put the pic onto the laptopandthis is what they saw.:smiley29:

nice story but it has to be a fake

Agreed!! I'll post this picture next to the Great White leaping out of the water to attack a hovering helicopter!

09-05-2007, 11:14
I would freak. I hope that is fake!!!

09-05-2007, 11:42
It is fake. i read about it on one of those "true or false" sites.

Still a cool photo.

09-05-2007, 12:48
It's probably on snopes, but it makes a great tale anyway!

Look at the lighting. The people are lit from the top/left/rear with an even light (as you can see in the reflections on her mask, back of his right hand. The light on the shark is mottled and straigt down from the top.

Cool pic even if it is fake

09-05-2007, 14:57
plus sharks can't hover so it would have swam past them if it was that close when the picture was taken

09-05-2007, 15:02
I'm pretty sure it was a joke...

That is a cool pic even if it is fake...I hope to NOT see a shark like that one while diving.....

Reminds me of Lenny in a Shark Tale. Looks very well fed to me. Like was said previously, sharks can't hover like that.

Welcome to Australia.

Great Whites, Crocs, Box Jelly fish, 8 of the top 10 deadly snakes, drop bears, Winnie Blues, VB, Bundy Bears, Dingoes.

And its still safer to live than in the States!

BTW I would love to see a White that size as long as I had my camera.

09-05-2007, 17:11
thats an awesome picture. fake or not... still cool.

09-05-2007, 17:19
great picture. i would like to see one myself.

09-05-2007, 17:50
that is a great photo shop

but what would you do in that situation?
actually, i doubt you would have enough time to think about it as the shark would have already bitten, chewed and swallowed half of one of the people.

guess i answered my own question then.

09-05-2007, 18:02
maybe the shark would just bump past, and knock 2 people out of the way and keep going on...

09-05-2007, 19:16
looks like a fake, if it were real and if i were mom or dad i think when i saw that pic the pants would just turn brown just thinking about it.

I thought this was at Clear Springs Scuba Park!?!?!
(This is the location of the Scuba Toys End Of Summer Bash on Sept. 23rd)

I got this in a email from a co-worker. I posted it for fun, I don't believe it's real either but it is in the Scuba Stories, Comments & Questions that don't fit elsewhere! forum. Ha, Ha.....

It is a cool pic though and a good little story to go with it.

09-05-2007, 19:51
what a great fake. I opened this email 2 weeks ago and couldn't believe it.

I don't photoshop but I do have another program. Anybody up for it? Might be kinda fun. Also it will give me a good reason to learn the program a bit better.

cool pic even for a fake

09-29-2007, 17:16
Would love to see a great white some day (inside a cage though). I have seen a large hammerhead (we estimated as 12-14 feet) a few feet away in the open ocean - very cool and also a little scary, especially afterwards.

09-29-2007, 18:02
I wasn't able to see the pic!!! I read something about great white and helicopter, but don't know if that was the actual pic!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

09-29-2007, 19:47
No, it was a picture of two divers under the water posing for a picture, with a big honk'in shark behind them look'in all mean and stuff.

09-29-2007, 21:29
I did this real quick...

09-30-2007, 07:52
