does anyone have remediations for where to dive along the gulf coast?

I am planing a trip to FL, AL, MS, no where set in stone yet, I'm thinking in early spring, late winter.

Any help would be great, good, bad, go here, don't go here, things like that.

The further you get from the Mississippi River, the clearer the water. I often go to the region from Gulf Shores to Pensacola to Destin for offshore boat diving, beach/jetty diving, and nearby springs diving.

What kind of diving are you looking for?

If your interested in beach diving there's Saint Andrews State Park off of Thomas Drive in Panama City Beach. It's $5.00 by car load and you can gear up at a pavaillion and walk to the beach where there's a jetty. If you enjoy macro photography there are lots of little critters. Florida law requires a dive flag and the jetty ahs large boat traffic on one side to be careful surfacing. There are three dive shops near by if you need air, Panama City Dive Center, Dive Locker and Diver's Den.
