Hey guys, I posted a while back about diving around Richmond; turns out I'll be in Baltimore instead. I wanted to get some advice on what places are musts around the area, and if there are any wrecks worth exploring.

My highest Certification levels (thus far):

Advanced Open Water
Nitrox

Thanks everyone!

I've done some oyster diving in the bay in the past. Expect low vis and not much to see though but you can find oyster. Off Ocean City Ted runs the OC Diver although most of this charters are geared towards tec diving but he does some shallow stuff. His schedule is posted online. OCDIVER Subheading Goes Here (http://www.ocdiver.com/)

There is another boat in Ocean City that runs charters gear towards rec. divers. It seems to run mostly Fri-Sun. Ocean City Diving // Ocean City Scuba Diving // Ocean City Wreck Diving (http://www.atlanticedge.com/ocean_city_diving.shtml)

There is also a guest diver program at the National Aquarium. Guest Diver Program (http://www.aqua.org/immersiontours_guestdiver.html)

Quarry wise you have Millbrook in Haymaker, MD. Hydes in, Westminster, MD(not to far away from Baltimore). Both have really bad vis. Dutch Springs in up in PA about 2 hours from Baltimore and really the best quarry around.

I head down to NC and SC a few times a year for wreck diving myself.

Thanks, I had heard about the aquarium. I also know about Dutch (Living in Pa, I hear about everyone who goes there, yet not having gone myself yet)

I saw on a map around Baltimore that there were a few lakes in the area, any of them diveable?

If they are I never heard about them. I guessing vis. would be poor and not much to see.

Dutch Springs is a little pricey. $35 for the day plus refills.

OUCH!!! Oronogo is only $12 plus fills: $6 for a 3000 psi, $8 for a 3442 psi and $.10 per cu ft for Nitrox. Granted Oronogo is 1,500 miles to the west....
