DOES ANYONE KNOW FOR SURE WHAT KIND OF AIRCRAFT IS AT CSSP. I DIDN'T LOOK AT THE PLATE WHILE I WAS THERE. I WAS TOLD IT WAS A DC-3 & I KNOW THAT'S WRONG. SIMILAR TO AN ATR-200?:smiley30::smiley9:

We tried to find that out last week, how ever there was a group that completely shot the clarity to about a 1. Actually we swam right over it and didnt even realize it.

No photo as it wasn't clear enought to get the whole plane in. Body is square shaped with a high wing seating approx 25 to 30 passengers. was flown by AA or American Eagle. There is a plate on it that is covered in growth.

I just googled it and I'd bet its a ERJ-135

American Eagle (http://www.aa.com/i18n/footer/eagleOverview.jsp)

Noob, ERJ-135 is a low wing. the one at CSSP is a twin prop high wing used 80's to 90's. looks real close to ATR-200 but with a square body. I believe this plane used to sit at a bussiness just south of Boyd,tx. There was one in the samr condition for years then it dissapeared.
May have to go back just to find out. The plate was near the rear low on the port side.

Chilly you may be right. the body looks right and the cutouts ontop would be where the wing was removed.:smiley20::smiley20:

Confirm it has the split tails (sts) like an A-10? Does it still have the tail?

Checked the data plate on the plane today, it is a Shorts SD3-30.

That checks. The Shorts SD3-30 is the civilian version of the C-23A/B pictured.

I rode in a few of those. There is a reason they are called "Vomit Comets!"

I thought they were called "flying happy meals"
