I have been gone for a while! Last weekend I did basic cave in sidemount in Marianna,FL. Cavern was a great class but basic cave really hooked me once we left the cavern zone. The dives started at Jackson blue then twin and hole in the wall. Our last dive was at hole in the wall and I was the lead diver. We made it to around 600ft. I dove 72's so diving 1/6's didn't give us a whole lot of penetration but we still saw a fair amount of cave. Now I just have to find time to check out more caves and larger cylinders!

I have been looking at lp77's but will probly end up with 85's or 95's. 104's would be a little much for me right now!

Most excellent mrmccoy!!!I got my cavern sert up here a couple of weeks ago and look forward to a few cavern dives, though the midwest isn't near as cool.

Congrats and have some great, safe dives!

1/6th? Is that a rule of basic cave? or were they not manifolded? I'm not a cave diver.

Congrats on the cert. I think the Cave classes where probably the most fun that I have yet on a certification.

1/6ths on doubles 1/3's on single for intro to cave or basic cave or cave 1. 1/3s for full cave and the like.

Yes, the overhead classes have been the best for me as well. I took cavern and basic cave about 2 weeks apart but plan to dive as much as possible in the next year(getting married in sept).
