WAAAY too much excitement(owner said he needed to go check his underwear!)poor kid got a pretty nasty gash on his forearm, tanks have a couple nicks, nothing but conversation pieces-welcome to SOFL

Which half of the connection blew up? Your new valve or the whip?

Are you re-thinking this move yet? I think they are out to get you.

it was the whip! the thought did kind cross my mind-and it happened immediately after hanging up with a fellow floridian(do you think he had a detonator planted?)

I've seen/had a whip develop a leak that was loud and impressive, but never completely break. I'm sure it was frighteningly impressive. How long did it take to fully stop? I'm hoping they were able to get close enough to the storage bottle to turn it off there? If not, that would be a long time of the hose banging into stuff.

this place is awesome-rows upon rows of bottles and 32 whips-it felt like hours but was really about 5 mins before everything was turned off-"frighteningly impressive" hits the nail on the head; you're afraid to watch but cant stop yourself-i was just worried with that yoke on the end it was going to smash into the valves of other tanks being filled(not just mine) or the control panel and armegeddon(sp?) was on!(they do trimix & all kinds of gas mixing so there was ALOT of gas around)

I think I would bring my own life vest when you go out on your first boat dive. If the boat sinks get the hell out:smiley36:

Lets just say that while I would love to sit next to you on a dive boat, I think Homeland Security might get an anonymous tip that might delay you actually getting on the same plane:smiley36:

so not funny after i got publicly re-wanded(and patted down) at the gate as the plane was boarding last week-all the passengers were looking at me like i was some kind of weirdo(oh, thats right, but a first class passenger weirdo)- and i have major connections with HLS/ICE and have TSA clearance of unescorted access at most airports because i am a forwarding driver when horses fly in/out of the freight terminals!-soooo humbling

I have this new hobby that is always good for a few laughs.

What I like to do is hang out at the airport and yell beeeeep every now and then. It works best when HLS has some poor schmoo bent over a table:smilie40:

I've been trying to get Lulu too. Now that she has that new hot rod I might have to start hanging out with the Highway Patrol.

No worries. Lulu alarms every time she walks through those airport scanners . See previous threads. I'm getting quite blase to getting felt up by women.

New ride does have a few horsepower under the hood and seems to cruise mighty fast, so I could use all of the highway patrol connections I can get, especially when I am not in the state of NC.

Not enough challenge here...even managed to avoid a ticket for 75 in a 35, passing on the right, and expired tags.

Back a few years ( ok close to 15 years) the ems service I worked for had a cascade system to refill our portable and main O2 tanks. I needed to fill my main tank and the cascade system was empty. So I had to change all 4 bottles out. I then hooked every thing up and and started turning on the bottles of cascade system. I hear a loud bang, and find myself on the floor. People are running every where. The line to cascade system blew out, knocked me in the chest and on to the floor. I get up and take off my shirts and there is a huge welt running across my chest and abdomen. The Operations Manager comes out, looks at the maintenance folks asks how long the system will be down and walks away.
