Use a Cetacea Locking High Force Retractor (http://www.scubatoys.com/store/detail.asp?PRODUCT_ID=RCL01HF).

It will keep your console up against your body so you're not dragging gauges on the bottom and retracts so it's less of an entanglement hazard, And you can lock the Retractor so the console "floats" in your field of vision if your hands are busy with something else.

That is way nicer then the one I use. I like the multi-mount feature. Yeah, use that one!

I have my console on a retractor and my computer on my wrist...I have been told that retractors have a defined life span. Sooner or later it will break like everything else-I bought a spare just in case.

I used to have my console (computer, compass, SPG) on a retractor. I removed the computer (Veo 250) and placed it on my wrist. Same for the compass. The SPG clipped to left hip D-ring.

I do not clip my console to my BC. When ever it isn't in my hand it is laying across the back of my leg.

Here you go....... Below is your setup, attach the BCQR4 (female) clip to your BC strap. Cut the silly plastic clip off the BCQR1 (male) and replace with plain old fashion key ring loop (like on the BCQR4). Now attach new key ring loop to your console. Snap male to female and your set.

This setup will hang about 5-6 inches where you can see it by glancing down but still be close and not dangle. If you need to use the compass or want to hold at your saftey stop it just snaps on and off.

Attaching and removing from gear is quick and easy........ and ST has these wonderful items in-stock!!:smiley20:
