does anyone know how to best change the battery in an uwatec aladin sport dive computer.
this ones got the battery soldered in and has an oil fill.
i assume its mineral oil.
anyone have experience or recommendations on this subject?
also what is the cost if i send it to a dealer and is that better than do it yourself?

I own a UWATEC Smart TEC that has non-user replaceable batteries. I bought it through a ScubaPro dealer, so if it needs battery replacement, I just send it in and it's done for free. From talking with others, it's my understanding that if I had not bought it through a SP dealer, it would cost about $250 in labor to have the battery replaced by UWATEC. I don't know if it would be the same amount for your Aladin. It's my guess, if you sent it in, UWATEC would probably want to offer you a credit toward the purchase of a newer computer.
