What did Hanna Barbara have against scuba ?

This show full of para-millitary faceless frogmen with automatic weapons ... I used to wonder where they got their inspiration, now of course I know it was from a guy that frequents this forum.

Largo, did/do you get royalties?

I dunno---Jonny and Hadji were double-hose reg diving years before most of us:

One of the classic cartoons of its day, and continues to hold up well if you're lucky enough to see the episodes without PC-era edits done to them (both scene and dialogue).

Hanna-Barbera originally wanted to do a take on the Jack Armstrong radio series through animation, but in the end were unable to secure the rights to that character. Thus was Jonny Quest born.

You can see the original Jack Armstrong test animation in the opening and closing credits, BTW. It's the stuff that was never seen in any JQ episode, but is pretty dramatic visually.

FWIW, Dr. Benton Quest was always in demand around the world it seemed, because he was the established expert in------well, nothing in particular, I suppose--but people apparently funded him lavishly for it. If only I could get people to look at my DM skills the same way.

If only...
