Pretty cool!!!Who knows how many wrecks like that are out there, just waiting to be found. Kind of interesting that a lot of them are by pure chance.

There are around 1000 shipwrecks in Lake Michigan alone. Only ~half of them have been located. Still, even with modern technology it's like looking for a needle in a really big haystack. A shipwreck creates an artificial reef and a safehaven for many fish and other water dwelling critters. Because of this wrecks make great fishing spots. A tremendous amount of finds are from fishermen losing nets or having a great fishing spot. Many smart wreck hunters check areas popular with local fisherman.

I have heard stats that ther are something like 6,000 wrecks in the great lakes that are know to have occurred, many have yet to be located. How awesome would it be to be the first to dive a wreck. I know there are some here that have located and been the first.
