Is there a map or detailed booklet on where to lobster hunt in the keys, hoping to go this weekend or next week, and alittle worried where I can and can not go

The FL fish and game should have a publication on that. All states typically do. Check their site.

Big - make sure you pick up a measuring device. You do not want to get caught with undersized lobster. In fact brush up on regs regarding not just lobsters but all fishing. FWC is very strict about this.

Also boating rules in the keys...

You are expected to know the waters & depths before boating. You are expected to know what areas you may and may not drive over in a boat before boating.

I have heard the following to be true from other forums & would be very discrete if you accidentally hit a shallow flats area in the keys. Stay off the monitored VHF if your boat is equipped.
FYI- DO NOT CALL FWC for HELP If you get stuck on the flats. If you do call FWC for help, they will gladly come out & write you up a few thousand dollars ticket for destroying/replacing lost sea grass. They will not help you off the flats. However, they will call a tow service to come.

No taking of coral, etc. etc. etc. on linked pages listed above in earlier posts.

I did not think of the flat issue, Been reading up on the regs for a few weeks now, I do things by the book and do not want a big ticket for a 10 dollar lobster. If I get on the flat I will NOT call the FWC, it makes since though, in indiana alittle oppps tosses up some mud, down here it destroys a ecosystem.
