I read something hinting that it is up for sale. Anybody know about this?

For 1.2 million i could do a lot of blue water diving where i can see for ever.

I actually heard he knocked it down to $300,000. That's a rumor......NOT FACT!

Wow... from 1.2M to 300K? That sounds like a ScubaToys sale!

It's been for sale off and on for years. I'd say 1.2 mil is too much. $300K is too low and I doubt if that's a serious price.

It is useally advertised in one of the scuba mags . No way in hell he will get 1.2 ml for that place . All of Athens is not worh 1.2 mil let alone a 18 ft tire pit. IMO Can you tell I'm not fond of the place:smiley21:

Hopefully a potential new owner would keep it open as a scuba park!

I just returned from there. Surface temps were 86 degrees. Water temp was 78. Vis was about 25'. There are lots of boats, planes, bus, etc. I wish I had know about the sale. I would have asked. It was clean and enjoyable. Small group of divers. They said people start pouring in about 5PM and stay the weekend. There are hoop ups for RV's. Both dry camping and electric hook up's. Equipment wash down area, stage and lots of shade. Close to town. You can walk to a restaurant about a block away. They have complete rig set up's for rent or just air fills. I will go back again. From Dallas the trip is 1 hour.

I am a fan of Athens as well. But it is twice the drive that Clear Springs is. However, I enjoy both facilities and am just glad there are two sites within 1-2 hours.
