Completed my Cavern Certification today at Oronogo!! Was a blast even though vis was bad for even Oronogo, but made the training that much better. Humbling experience for sure, but makes open water diving seem even that much more relaxing!!! I have got some practicing with the reel to do!! The air cave was a pain with the shallowness, got floaty feet in the dry suit and looked like a retarded bat hanging upside down from the ceiling on day 1, but no problems the rest of the class. Finally got to see whats inside the 4 doors, the arches, sunroom, and part of the Keyhole. Was great to explore many of the areas I've been diving around and give me a license to learn so much more!!

Congratulations! Quite an achievement. I am still trying to just get the basics of diving down, so I am jealous of your new expertise, and I am sure you are very excited.

That's where we're doing Cavern and Intro this fall. How was the flow at Ginnie? I've heard it can be quite a beeoch at times.

Ginnie was awsome.. Flow was crazy, we had the time of our lives. You fight like hell to get in and float all the way out.. Fun time. Do yourself a favor and Call Richard at Supior Dive Training if you have not selected a instructor. His skills at instructing are incredible.

Good Luck and best wishes.

Ginnie is not too bad once you find where to swim with reduced current. My cave class there (2002) was a pain. Later trips I started finding the 'sweet spots' and life was much better.

Still, it like Little River, is a blast to simply 'float out'. Our last dive in little river a few weeks ago had us 40 minutes swimming in and only 15 minutes swimming out. (at least 15 minutes to our first deco stop)

Thanks for the instructor reference. I'll be using Alan Williams, owner of our LDS. He's hardcore tech/cave, fun to dive with, and very serious about training/safety. I'm hoping to be ready for next February's trip to the cenotes of Mexico...a trip I think he takes at least once or twice a year...when he's not diving the caves of northern FL and east TN.
