I am still trying to decide which of these wings to buy. It seems 18# will be enough for my style/type of diving.. but I am also thinking about extra lift wouldn't hurt me either.

I am:
Warm water diver (ALWAYS)
3mm Full Wetsuit
Aluminum Backplate
I usually use 6-8 pounds of weight
AL80 and sometimes AL100 if they are available.

What do you think? having extra lift is always better than having no lift. Right?

Well the beautiful thing about wings is you can always swap them out..

But for your needs I would say 18lbs would be plenty for just the diving you mentioned..

well, for your type of diving (which is pretty much the same as me) i would say that 18lb is suffice. however, i recently got a mach v 30lb and it is pretty darn minimal. i recently dove a week in la paz and there were several DIR and tech divers who commented on how streamline my setup was. i can't see a tremendous benefit of having a smaller wing as the 30lb is already very minimal.

The 30lb is very small, i am in the same position as you, but i'm gonna go w/ the 30 just incase.

Thanks guys. I have chosen to buy the 30# Wing just in case...and why not.
