View Full Version : Tears in wetsuit's spine pad

My zipper on my wetsuit has snagged my spine pad a couple of times, and now I have several little tears in it. (One of them is a 1" piece of flapping of rubber now.) I need to get the edges affixed back to the spine pad so that I don't always catch them whenever I zip up.

What to use?

Thanks.

Wait, I see a post dated Apr 22, 2010 that's probably my answer. I'll look into some AquaSeal or something like it.

If it's any consilation navyhmc, you were the one who answered AquaSeal back in Apr 2010. :smiley20:

I've spent many-a-hour over the past month lurking here at ST. Thanks guys (and ladies) for all of the pointers.

McNetts seal cement is better for repairing neoprene.

Gots it. I'll look into McNetts too. Thanks, bro.

How long after gluing do you have to wait before getting the suit wet?

24 hours at least, or better yet: 48 hours is recommended.

I waited 24 the first time I patched a suit, but dove in cold water...that may have been the cause of the seam break after repair.
