Ha! You thought this was a dive report! Nope! I was looking through my Favorites list and came upon a picture that was sent to me by a friend of mine. It is a picture of Starnes Island, or Rattlesnake Island to some, BEFORE there was a Lake Travis.

Cool pic. I did my navigation dives out to it in 1975--when the vis was greater than 50 feet. We had to navigate out to the island from a point on the shore and then end up back at the wrecked marina. You could read the name of a boat on the surface sitting on the bottom. Lake Travis BD (Before Development)

I do not know when the pic was taken. I have a friend of mine who dove Lake Travis as a teenager in the late 60s and he commented about the vis being 50 feet and greater. Today, we are thrilled with 15-20 feet!
