Ive only dove locally in San Diego & a few resort dives in Cabo & East Cape "Cabo Pulmo"
Well now that my better half & I are certified shes been wanting to plan a dive vacation.
She receaved some $250 vouchers for Stuarts Cove when she purchased her Aqualung Legend & Cobra.
I can care less about diving with the sharks, for me its all about spectacular reefs / marine life & superior visibility.
So those of you that have dove Nassau Bahamas & Cozumel, would love to hear which has more impressive reefs, marine life, & visibility?
From SD Coz is less of a commute & drastically cheaper, so want to hear pros & cons to both..
If Coz is your pick, what area is best to stay at to keep things central to best dive area & any other recommendations for that matter?
thanks for the insight!

I vote more for Coz due to it's low price air fares, nice hotels and easy reefs.

Both are well worth your time. I just think that Coz is easy.

IMO- You will find more dramatic and better conditions with the reefs in Cozumel.

Nassau is great but you will find better diving at some of the out islands, I would use the gift certificates for a couple of days with Stuarts Cove and move to a different location/island.

Coz, not a big fan of the diving in the Bahamas

If money is not a problem then the Cozumel Palace. If you are on a budget the Casa Del Mar. There are lots of other good ones in COZ; but, these are my two favorites.

I did a dive with Stuart Cove, but it wasn't nearly as spectacular as the out islands of the Bahamas.

I highly recommend Cozumel, and Scuba Club Cozumel in particular!
look at my photos and videos here: Cozumel - April 2010 (http://www.rnrscuba.net/2010Cozumel/Cozumel2010_tripreport.html) (our last visit)
and all our other dive trips: http://www.rnrscuba.net/photos.html

We have been to Cozumel 8 times, last 2 we stayed there and prefer it hands down to every other place on the island. You are able to get in 2 morning boat dives (included in packages), all meals (included in packages but not nasty buffet food, it is sitdown meals), and then shore dive (free) or sign up for afternoon boat dives (extra). For Cozumel and bang for your buck, it is the BEST.

it is not a fancy resort, but I don't go on dive trips to be pampered, I go to DIVE DIVE DIVE.

if you like to shore dive, it is the ONLY place on the entire island set up for it, watch my video for explanation:

you are welcome Aquatrax. Have a great trip! If you like fish-watching, the shore dive is amazing! We found so many eels in particular: sharptail, goldentail, spotted, green moray, purple mouth, and chain moray! All of them within the shore diving area. Also tons of blennies and little stuff, as you can see from our photos. It is just so relaxing to dive that shore dive, spend an hour plus underwater and never get deeper than 24'.

I love the place and would go back tomorrow! In fact, we are debating where we want to go next and I just keep thinking about SCC and how much I love it... so relaxing, so peaceful, and so much good diving!
