The water temp was 72. Max depth was 24ft. Average depth 18ft. Vis was 20ft.
I was a fun day of diving.

You do know it goes down to about 80 feet, right? How cold was it below the thermo? Regardless, what did you see down there? Did you dive the airplane? Which boats? The coffin?

80 feet eh??? Is that right near the sunken WWII air craft carrier, just north of where the manta ray lives???

I'm surprised at you, Larry.

It's over by the alternate NASA splashdown point for the old Apollo missions; area was filled in during the late 70s jello purge at Texas public schools and is used to simulate haloclines today. It's one of the reasons so many are adamant about rinsing their gear immediately after getting out of the water there--it prevents a build-up of dried jello particles from damaging their 2nd stage diaphragms.

I was told there was an 80-foot spot by one of my DIs. If not...meh.

When we were there back in March, we only got down to 28' and that was by the South end on a sail boat. Temps were a nice 60f on the surface and 56 below the 'cline. vis only about 10' though.

There is also the elusive white catfish. Seen him/her a few times at depth
